I wrote a book!

Open: Adventures in Radical Hospitality is as old as I am, and at least as young as Easter, 2021. Maybe as young as the moment you open its skinny little binding. I wrote pieces of it earlier in this century, and wrote the rest in 2020. Because 2020. (Did you write a book in 2020? I want to hear about it!) Open weaves together some threads of my own life that together I hope will resonate: baptism, vocation, justice, integrity, making hard decisions, making mistakes, learning…with threads of the world around us: doing honest work in a corrupt world, making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable people, fighting uphill battles (aren’t they all) and carrying on in tiny ways. Much of the story is in the context of Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood and little church on 82nd Avenue that gave birth to Rahab’s Sisters and so much light. And nothing was ever the same again.

I hope you’ll have a read. Ordering information is below.
